Ahaz the King of Judah is overwhelmed by the invasion of both Aram and Israel. They want to depose him and together take on Assyria. Isaiah is calling on Ahaz to not fear because both nations will be dealt with by God. Ahaz rejects the offer of a sign of assurance from God because his trust is alliance with Assyria. A sign is nevertheless given by God which involves the birth of a son to virgin who is Immanuel. God with us!
