When we do this we find it has the power to move us to life changing awe and wonder as we see the shocking injustice, feel the intimate connection to our pain and wonder at the amazing plot twits in the story.

Hezekiah is faced with a death sentence from God. His desperate prayer is answered and he is given an extra 15 years. The King tragically allows the Babylonians to see all the treasures of his kingdom. Isaiah predicts that the city will be sacked by the Babylonians. Hezekiah tragically does not appear to care for the generations that will be caught up in the exile.
The Assyrian commander seeks to undermine Hezekiah and his men as they stand at the wall of Jerusalem. Hezekiah goes to prayer and hears from Isaiah that God will protect his city. His prayer captures a jealousy for God`s honour.
