In the midst of inevitable challenges, disappointments, and uncertainty, we seek assurance in someone who is faithful and in control. In 2 Samuel 7, God reveals his trustworthiness and faithfulness by inviting us to witness his good plans for humanity—his promise that is shaping the history of the world and all eternity.

In God’s unfolding story we continue to see God’s plan coming to pass through ordinary people. In 2 Samuel we see David graciously engaging with king David through promising to establish through him the one who will bring about God’s eternal plans.

Bible Text: 2 Samuel 24:1-4, 9-25 | Preacher: Ray Galea | Series: Yours Is The Kingdom | The book of Samuel ends with another reminder that King David has fallen again. He is a flawed Messiah making God the hero who provides the means for sacrifice whereby God`s wrath is averted. David is like Adam in bringing sin and punishment on his people and yet he is like Christ offering his life for theirs.

Bible Text: 2 Samuel 11:1-17 | Preacher: Ray Galea | Series: Yours Is The Kingdom | Oh how the mighty have fallen.
So far we have seen the rise of King David.
A man chosen by God, anointed as King, and after God's own heart.
We sing David's songs and we make his praises for God our own.
But in this talk we see the tragic fall into adultery and murder in one year.

Bible Text: 2 Samuel 9 | Preacher: Mark Boyley | Series: Yours Is The Kingdom | Humbly accept God’s loving-kindness to you, then be kind to others in the same way.

Bible Text: 2 Samuel 7:1-17 | Preacher: Ray Galea | Series: Yours Is The Kingdom

Bible Text: 2 Samuel 6:1-15 | Preacher: Ray Galea | Series: Yours Is The Kingdom | There are two apparently conflicting truths in the bible.
On the one hand we are called to fear the Lord. Its the beginning of wisdom.
On the other  we serve the Lord without fear for fear has to do with punishment. Well which is it?

Bible Text: 2 Samuel 1:1-16 | Preacher: Ray Galea | Series: Yours Is The Kingdom | Its hard when you know God has revealed His will in the Bible.
You trust the promises but they take so long to be experienced. In the mean time you are tempted to compromise and cut corners.
No one knew that better than King David as he waited to be anointed as King.

Bible Text: 2 Samuel | Preacher: John Woodhouse | John Woodhouse gives us an excellent overview of 2 Samuel in 3 components:

00:05:24-00:25:59 Part 1: David’s Kingdom (2 Samuel 1-10)
00:25:59-00:53:10 Part 2: David’s Disaster (2 Samuel 11-20)
00:53:10-01:15:00 Part 3: The kingdom of David and the kingdom of God (2 Sam 21-24)
