John 12:13

As Jesus entered the city, he was welcomed by the people as their God and King, and they honoured him by spreading palm branches before him, a symbol of victory and triumph—this was often done when a king returned after war.

This moment was a high point in Jesus' earthly ministry, as the crowds joyfully declared, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord— the King of Israel!’ However, this was not the highest point of his mission. While the people expected a political deliverer, Jesus had come for a greater purpose—to bring salvation through his death and resurrection.

John 13:1-17

On the night before Jesus' death, He showed that a servant-hearted God by humbling himself to wash his disciples’ feet. This act was a striking demonstration of love, as washing feet was a task reserved for the lowliest servant. By washing their feet, Jesus not only cleansed their bodies but pointed to the deeper cleansing he would accomplish through his sacrifice, making them truly clean before God.

John 19:30

When Jesus had completed his mission to save the world, he declared, ‘It is finished,’ and then gave up his life. These final words were not a cry of defeat but a triumphant declaration that his work to bring forgiveness was complete.

Jesus did what no one else could: he secured eternal victory, not through conquest, but through his willing sacrifice.”

Matthew 28:6

Jesus didn’t stay dead—he rose to life, and people saw him with their own eyes. This was the true high point of Jesus’ ministry—the moment that confirmed his power over sin and death. His resurrection was the ultimate proof that his sacrifice was accepted, that he is truly the Son of God, and that all who trust in him can have eternal life. What began with the crowds welcoming him as king with palm branches found its fulfillment in the empty tomb, where Jesus was revealed as the victorious, risen King forever.

What to expect

We really hope that your experience of celebrating Easter with us this year is a positive one.

At church, we will sing a few songs and hear a talk from a part of the Bible about Jesus. You can wear what you like, stay for as long or as little as you want, and can feel free to simply sit back and see what we are on about.

On Good Friday, there will be free hot-cross buns for everyone!

Got kids?

We love having kids at MBM; they are a big part of our Church family!

Kids are welcome at any of our Easter services, however, our services on Friday and Sunday mornings are designed with them in mind!
